General Instructions:
This survey builds off of the FGDC Cadastral Subcommittee 2003 Assessment of Parcel Data in the US. The purpose of the survey is to determine the current status and trends of parcel data in the US since 2003. This information will be used by the FGDC Cadastral Subcommittee to facilitate the coordination of activities related to cadastral data and the exchange of cadastral data by formal and informal means. Questions are asked about three data categories; cadastral data, orthophotography, and corner control. The later two are included because they are essential to conversion and use of cadastral data in a GIS.
Each state has a single cadastral contact that was acquired with the assistance of the National States Geographic Information Council. Access to the survey is provided through the nationalcad webstie. A user identification and password will be provided to this State Cadastral Contact and the State GIS Coordinator. These passwords may be shared with others to complete specific sections or to verify the content of the data.
If you have any questions or problems with the survey contact David Stage at dstage@nationalcad.org.
